Thanks to Billie Eilish and her fans for their kindness, generosity and compassion, the Howard County Conservancy’s Youth Climate Institute (YCI) is proud to share that they are among the many donation recipients of Billie’s Changemaker Program! The donation was received via REVERB, a non-profit entrusted by Billie Eilish to steward the distribution of these funds across North America through their Climate Impact Fund.
YCI is a high school program that combines climate education and action to prepare students to become effective environmental stewards, pursue green jobs and combat the climate crisis. YCI began in 2020 and has now worked with more than 700 students and has 55 active chapters in 10 states.
“This is a huge vote of confidence for YCI. Billie Eilish’s commitment to climate action and amplifying youth voices aligns perfectly with our goals. Our student ambassadors are elated to have their work recognized by Billie,” said Meg Boyd, YCI Executive Director.
Billie Eilish’s sold-out HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR has raised $11.5 million to help support important organizations, projects, and voices dedicated to food equity, climate justice, reducing carbon pollution, and supporting other crucial environmental work in combating
the climate crisis.
“Having Billie Eilish support our work is incredibly meaningful; she’s an icon for our generation, and her recognition shows young climate activists that we’re not alone in this fight. It gives me hope that together we can create the change our planet needs.” said Sarah Kc, a YCI Certified Ambassador with Honors and recent high school graduate.
